(26/05/2021)Xin Jin Shan Chinese Language and Culture School Principal’s Message

(Victorian Government’s statement for more information)。

一、    所有教职员工和志愿者在室内必须戴口罩(教师在上课期间可不用戴口罩);

二、    所有需要进入办公室咨询和报名交费以及进入教学楼接送孩子的家长在室内必须戴口罩;

三、    12岁及以上学生在教室里必须戴口罩;

Banyule, Bayside, Boroondara, Brimbank, Cardinia, Casey, Darebin, Frankston, Glen Eira, Greater Dandenong, Hobsons Bay, Hume, Kingston, Knox, Manningham, Maribyrnong, Maroondah, Melbourne, Melton, Monash, Moonee Valley, Moreland, Mornington Peninsula, Nillumbik, Port Phillip, Stonnington, Whitehorse, Whittlesea, Wyndham, Yarra, Yarra Ranges

Principal’s Message

Dear teachers, students and parents,

I would like to inform you two important issues today.

Firstly, the new restrictions announced by the Acting Premier James Merlino MP came into force for Greater Melbourne from 6pm Tuesday (25 May), including gatherings of no more than five people in a private home, public gatherings limited to 30 and face masks indoors for those aged 12 years and older (except for exemptions). Please be aware that face masks are mandatory in public transport and $200 fine would apply if commuters refuse to do so. Please refer to the Victorian Government’s statement for more information.

Based on the new restrictions, we urge all the staff, volunteers and visitors to follow the instructions below on campus:

  1. All the staff and volunteers must wear face masks inside (except if teaching)
  2. All the parents must wear face masks inside when entering offices for enquiry and registration and entering classrooms for picking up and dropping off kids
  3. All the students aged 12 years and older must wear face masks in the classrooms
  4. All the staff, volunteers and parents staying on campus over 15 minutes must check in on the QR Code.

Your cooperation on the new Covid-19 restrictions and regulations on campus would create a healthy and safe learning and working environment for all of us.

Metropolitan Melbourne consists of the following Local Government Areas (LGAs):

Banyule, Bayside, Boroondara, Brimbank, Cardinia, Casey, Darebin, Frankston, Glen Eira, Greater Dandenong, Hobsons Bay, Hume, Kingston, Knox, Manningham, Maribyrnong, Maroondah, Melbourne, Melton, Monash, Moonee Valley, Moreland, Mornington Peninsula, Nillumbik, Port Phillip, Stonnington, Whitehorse, Whittlesea, Wyndham, Yarra, Yarra Ranges.

Secondly, according to the requirements of DET regarding the child safety in community language schools, no parents (except for enquiry and registration purposes and accompanying early learning children in classes) can stay on campus during class time. The parents of early learning children are required to register in the Chinese office on campus and our staff would assist them to apply for Working With Children Check, read and sign relevant child safe documents. Moreover, we have updated our school website and all the child safe policies and documents are now accessible online at https://xjs.vic.edu.au/child-safety/ and all the parents and students are encouraged to read. If you have any feedback or suggestions regarding our child safe policies, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

It’s getting colder recently. Please keep warm and let’s see you on weekends.

Yours sincerely,

Kevin Hu, Principal
