(08102020)Xin Jin Shan Chinese Language and Culture School Principal’s Message

  • 所有师生员工必须使用口罩(围巾等无效,教师上课时可不限);
  • 所有访客只能去学校办公室,不可进入教室;
  • 所有教职员工必须有工作许可,必须提供学校地址、电话,以及校长姓名和联系方式,必须在许可证上签名;
  • 凡身体不适的老师、学生和其他工作人员必须呆在家里;
  • 学生不可混班上课,教室重复使用间隙必须清洗、消毒;
  • 课间必须保持1.5米社交间隔距离;
  • 学生和家长在上课前后不得在校门口聚集,家长或监护人下车接孩子必须戴口罩;

Principal’s Message

Dear teachers, students and parents,

Wecome back to Term 4. This term we would start from 10/11 October to 5/6 December, 9 weeks in total.

We’ve been informed by the Department of Education and Training that the first week of Term 4 would remain remote learning. From the second week of Term 4, all the prep, year 1 to year 10 students of community language schools would continue remote learning until further notice and year 11 and 12 students would return to on-site learning.

As requested by DET and VCAA, the following measures are to be followed:

  1. All the teachers and admin staff are required to wear face masks (Not scarfs. Teachers are not required to wear face masks while teaching, but can if they wish to do so);
  2. Visitors are only allowed to enter the office onsite, not classrooms;
  3. All the teachers and admin staff are required to carry a Permitted Worker Permit with the school’s address, contact number, principal name and contact number and their signature;
  4. Unwell students, teachers and admin staff have to stay at home;
  5. Mixing of students from different classes should be minimised and classrooms need to be cleaned and sanitised during breaks;
  6. Maintaining a physical distance of 1.5 metres during break time;
  7. Avoid congregating at the entrance of the school at drop-off and pick-up time. Parents and carers are required to wear face masks whenever they leave the house, including for school drop-off and pick-up.
  8. Students’ phones could be turned on before and after school and regular cleaning of their phones is encouraged.

Our remote learning has been largely acknowledged by students and parents in Term 2 and Term 3 and 98% of students have attended online classes. During Term 3 break, our teachers have attended various seminars sharing their experience in remote teaching and providing feedbacks on improving the quality of teaching in Term 4. I believe they would keep on working hard to provide best Chinese language and culture learning experience for our students.

Our VCE 12 students attended a special online exam during the school break which was carefully planned and supervised according to the requirements of VCAA. During the online exam, over 100 VCE students have observed examination rules strictly, followed guidance of the exam supervisors and taken the exam seriously which set a good example for students of other year levels. I hope all the VCE 12 students could take good use of the last few weeks before the final exams and present their best performance.

Stay safe and healthy and let’s see you on weekends.

Best regards,

Kevin Hu
